Prime Minister Modi will address the nation on his radio program "Mon Ki Baat" on May 31. It remains to be seen whether this will be the last day of Lockdown 4.0. Sources said that Prime Minister Modi may shed some light on Lockdown 5.0.
According to sources, Prime Minister Modi in his speech will emphasize the lockdown social consciousness and may also announce steps to ease restrictions in most parts of the country.
According to Home Ministry sources, the lockdown may be limited to 11 cities, with Lockdown 5.0 focusing on 11 cities in India with a percentage of coronaviruses.
Lockdown 5.0 is expected from June 1 in prominent cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Thane, Indore, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Surat and Kolkata.
Among the worst-hit cities in the country, 60 per cent of the 1.51 lakh coronavirus cases are coronaviruses, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Pune, Kolkata and Mumbai.
The center had earlier compiled a list of 30 municipal corporation zones stating that it was responsible for 80 per cent of the country's total coronavirus cases.
The center may consider reopening religious sites in Lockdown 5.0, but there are conditions that mean no religious ceremonies, including fairs and festivals, can be conducted at this time. There will be no public gathering. Social distance will also be made compulsory in religious places.
The Karnataka government has requested Prime Minister Modi to reopen all religious places from June 1 and wrote a letter to the PMO.
Salons and gyms, markets open in some areas
However, no educational institution including school-college will be allowed to open. Malls and cinema halls are also likely to be closed in the coming days.
The wedding and janaza will continue to witness a small number of guests.
