"Two women tried to commit suicide near Lok Bhawan. One woman was rescued by the police and the other was in critical condition. They will also be tested for Kavid-19," said Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Naveen Aurora. .
The women complained that they were being intimidated and threatened over a dispute with their village neighbor over a drain in the Jammu area of Amethi. Their allegation against the police is that the police did not take any action on their allegations and they support the other party to harass them.
The in-charge of the police station in the area where their village falls has been dismissed.
"On May 9, the woman and her neighbor had a dispute over a drain. Both parties have filed an FIR in the case. Police say we have suspended two officers. A detailed investigation has been ordered," said Superintendent of Police Amethi, Khayati Garg. .
Political criticism has already begun. Former chief minister and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav accused Yogi Adityanath Sarkar of failing to address the concerns of the poor. "There is a sad news in front of Lok Bhawan in Lucknow that two women have committed suicide without taking any action against the bullies. The SP built the Lok Bhawan so that the common man can go there to redress their grievances without any discrimination but there is no hearing for the poor in this BJP government." He tweeted.
Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati in a tweet called on the state government to take stern action against the officials involved in the case.
The mother and daughter were forced to set themselves on fire in front of the CM's office in Lucknow due to lack of justice by the Amethi district administration in the land dispute case. Take strict action against the guilty officials so that the incident does not happen again. "
