NEW DELHI, Aug 23 - Exciting news is coming in from NASA, the world's largest space agency, with a surprising 2020 report that a small asteroid will hit Earth on November 3, a day before the US primary election.  The probability is 0.41 percent.

  NASA scientists predict that the asteroid "2018VP1" with a diameter of 0.002 km (about. 5.5 feet) will come close to Earth one day before the 2020 US election, according to CNN.

  It was first detected in 2018 in observations of Paloma in California.

  However, based on 21 observations over 12,968 days, "the US space agency has determined that the asteroid is unlikely to have a profound effect.

  Earlier, a car-sized asteroid landed on Earth last week, the record found on the nearest flyby of this genre, and scientists could easily find out about it until it departed.

  At 12.08 am on Sunday, the asteroid traveled 2,950 km over the South Indian Ocean at EDT (9.36pm India time), according to NASA.

  Nearby Earth's asteroids move farther - usually farther than the moon.

  At 2020 QG, the asteroid is the first image of this record-setting space rock.

  This SUV-sized asteroid was discovered by two students from IIT-Bombay, who are residents of Pune and Haryana.

  They are Kunal Deshmukh and Kriti Sharma - working on a research project to find Earth's closest Earth asteroids - who discovered the asteroid in just a few hours using data from the robotic Zuiki Transient Facility (ZTF) in California.
