According to DRDO sources, the successful test of the hypersonic Scramjet propulsion system based aircraft was completed today. At around 11:30 pm, HSTDV, used as a booster, launched a fire missile about 30 km above the ground from the APJ Abdul Kalam Testing Range (Wheeler Land) Center in Baleshwar, Odisha.

According to DRDO sources, the unmanned aircraft is capable of launching long-range missiles. It can reach 32 and a half kilometers in just 20 seconds. The missile can reach this height. With the help of this unmanned aircraft it is possible to launch long-range missiles. In addition, it has several civilian uses. In the future, HSTDV will be used for low-cost satellite launches.
As a result of successful testing of HSTDV, India is in the same position as the United States, Russia and China in hypersonic technology. Although the aircraft was successfully tested last February, it was not officially announced by the DRDO with the aim of achieving its ultimate success.
The @DRDO_India has today successfully flight tested the Hypersonic Technology Demontrator Vehicle using the indigenously developed scramjet propulsion system. With this success, all critical technologies are now established to progress to the next phase.
