India has scored a hat-trick to win the #UNelection at the 75th session of the #UNGeneralAssembly, which was held virtually due to the Kovid-19 epidemic.
India defeated China by winning a four-year term in the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CWS), the esteemed branch of the World Economic and Social Council (ISOSOC).

On Tuesday, Deputy Permanent Representative K Nagraj Naidu announced the election of the other two bodies in a follow-up tweet. "India has been selected in three #Exocorganizations," he wrote.
India, Afghanistan and China represented Asia-Pacific in the fight for two CWS seats in the group. Afghanistan and India got 39 and 38 votes, respectively, with a total of 54 members of the Economic and Social Council. China finished with 27, touching the cut-off of 26.
Argentina, Austria, Dominican Republic, Israel, Latvia, Nigeria, Turkey and Zambia also participated in the vote.
