India has scored a hat-trick to win the #UNelection at the 75th session of the #UNGeneralAssembly, which was held virtually due to the Kovid-19 epidemic.

India defeated China by winning a four-year term in the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CWS), the esteemed branch of the World Economic and Social Council (ISOSOC).

In addition, the Coordinating Committee (CPC) and the Population and Development Commission (CPD). With the approval, India also won one seat each from two other Issosok organizations.

India is a dignified #ECOSOC body! ”  TS Thirumurthy, India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, announced the good news in a tweet on Monday.

“India elected a member of the Commission on Women #CSW.  His responsibility remained on India.  This is in support of our commitment to promoting gender equality and women's empowerment through the efforts of all.  "

On Tuesday, Deputy Permanent Representative K Nagraj Naidu announced the election of the other two bodies in a follow-up tweet.  "India has been selected in three #Exocorganizations," he wrote.

India, Afghanistan and China represented Asia-Pacific in the fight for two CWS seats in the group.  Afghanistan and India got 39 and 38 votes, respectively, with a total of 54 members of the Economic and Social Council.  China finished with 27, touching the cut-off of 26.

Argentina, Austria, Dominican Republic, Israel, Latvia, Nigeria, Turkey and Zambia also participated in the vote.
