#Kolkata: Sealdah Railway Station Square is getting more modern shoppers in the face of change.  Sealdah, one of the largest stations of the Eastern Railway, is being replaced by the Metro Rail.  Sources said that the Sealdah railway station will be completed within the next one year.  The whole station premises will be changed because of him.  Sealdah is going to be a very important station in the East-West Metro project.  Metro will use millions of passengers every day from this station.  Such is the confidence of the Calcutta Metro Rail Authority.  That is why the metro station and the railway station are absolutely side by side so extra importance is being given to the convenience of the passengers.

The East West  metro line is 16.5 meters below the ground.  Fulbagan Metro Station on one side of Sealdah Station, Esplanade Station on the other side.  Since Esplanade Metro Station is going to be Junction Station, it is assumed that Sealdah Metro Station should also have proper measures to control overcrowding.  Rupak Sarkar, Chief Operating Manager, ITD-CEM, the official in charge of construction of Sealdah Metro Station, said, "Sealdah is going to be a very important station because people from different parts of the suburbs will depend on this station.  We have worked to ensure that the connection to the north, main and southern rail platforms of Sealdah station is maintained so that people are not inconvenienced. "

 East - West Metro - Sealdah Station facilities

 For the convenience of passengers, the station has 9 stairs.  It can be easily reached with wide space on the platforms on the south side of Sealdah.  So it is being widened for convenience.  In addition, there are stairs at multiple ends to enter and exit the metro station.  The station has a total of 16 escalators.  There is a total of 26 ticket counters.  For those who have physical problems, there will be several ticket counters.  These have been specially lowered.  In addition, there are 5 lifts for the convenience of travel.  There are 3 platforms in total.

  The island platform has been set up to facilitate the movement of many passengers. The work of arranging the station has already started.  The floor has begun to be sorted.  According to sources, the tunnel boring machine "Urbi" will arrive at Sealdah station from Boubazar in the second week of next month.  He will be sent back to Boubazar from Sealdah station.  So part of the platform is still not going to start sorting.  Rupak Babu said that by December 2021, they will hand over the new Sealdah station to the Metro Rail.
