Punjub:-

Farmers protested near the Nilon Bridge in Ludhiana on Tuesday in protest of the Central Farm Bill.  

  They issued an order that they would not allow any Punjab MP who would support the farm bill to enter the village, agitating farmers warned on Tuesday.  They blocked roads in many places and started a six-day 'pukka morcha' outside the house of former CM Prakash Singh Badal.  Protests also took place in Badal village in Muktar district and in front of his house at Puda ground in Patiala, the home district of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.

  Protesting farmers rallied on national and state highways, blocking roads with tractors at various places, calling the three bills "anti-farmer".

  On Monday, the Center introduced three farm bills in the Lok Sabha - 1) Farmers' Production Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Benefits) Bill, 2) Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Agricultural Services Bill and 3) Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill.  One of them - the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill 2020 - was passed for discussion on Tuesday and passed in Parliament by a voice vote.

 In their speeches, the agitating farmers said that the bills brought by the central government which are unfair to the farmers, the farmers will have to face losses in various ways, they have started a movement against this harmful bill against the peasantry and they will continue it.

  "MPs who support these farm bills in Parliament will not be allowed to enter the village," said Harinder Singh Lakshowal, general secretary of the Kisan Union of India (Lakshowal).

  Bills called it "worse than the coronavirus."  He said that if the bill is implemented, it will have a negative impact on farmers, financiers (commission agents) and farm workers.

  He said in a low voice that his organization and 11 other farmers' organizations had blocked roads, mainly national highways, in 25 places in the state.

  Ajmer Singh Lakhowal, president of BKK Group, said, "We (all firm unions) are united on this front, regardless of party affiliation."

  Ajmer Lakshowal was the chairman of the Punjab Mandi Board during the Akali rule and was a leader of the pro-Akali position.  "Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Awami League president Sukhbir Singh Badal have to state their real position in Parliament.  Many Akali MLAs are supporting us.  These are the leaders who have said the opposite before that we are not keeping a clear picture (of the three ordinances).  Now they need to present a clear picture or they will not be allowed to enter the village.

 

  Ajmer Lakshowal, the leader present, said that thousands of farmers staged a protest from noon to 2 pm and blocked the GT Road near Talwandi Bhai near Ferozepur.

 "Two hundred Punjab farmers will now reach Delhi on Wednesday to protest outside the parliament," he added.

  Meanwhile, protesters in Moga joined symbolic protests.  They demonstrated wearing black clothes and hanging from their necks.

  Pakka Morcha in Badal village and Patiala

  BKUR (Ekta Ugrahan) Under this placard and banner, the farmers started a pucca morcha in Muktar Badal village and Patiala.

  “We have brought dry rations, masks and sanitizers.  We will protest day and night till September 20.  Hundreds of farmers, including women, marched in Badal village to protest.  SAD can no longer fool us in the name of methods or religion.  They also told the Akali Dal that if they were a peasant-compliant party, they would have to prove it in Parliament, ”said Ram Singh Vainibaga, president of the BKU (Ugrahan) Mansa unit.

  Outfit state president Joginder Singh Ugrahan questioned plans to project Punjab's ruling Congress as an opposition party in parliament.

  “Farmers are taking to the streets in large numbers.  If coronavirus is a threat, is it fair to choose this time to present these ordinances in Parliament?  The NDA needs to explain this.  They are killing farmers, ”said Sukhdev Singh Kokri Kalan, general secretary of BKU (Ugrahan).

 Currently, farmers' protests are continuing in various parts of Punjab

 Meanwhile, farmers blocked National Highway-1 for two hours between Phagwara-Hoshiarpur Sugar Mill Crossing and Phagwara-Nakoda Road Crossing.  Traffic between Jalandhar-Phagwara-Ludhiana, Phagwara-Nakodar and Phagwara-Nonshahar-Chandigarh was disrupted, causing inconvenience to passengers.

 Farmers also staged a protest at a grain market in Phagwara.  Led by BKK (Doba) president Manjit Singh Rai, commission agents and Mandy workers also joined the protest.

 In Hushiarpur, under the banner of Krishak Mazdoor Sangharsh Samiti, the farmers stopped the movement of vehicles on the Jalandhar-Pathankot GT road in Bengal.

 Meanwhile, Tanda police on Tuesday filed a case against members of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangram Committee for blocking the Bias road at Rara village on the Tanda-Sri Hargobindpur road.
