New Delhi: Fighting broke out on Sunday (September 22, 2020) in the Sambura area of ​​Aontipora in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district.  At one time, there were reports of an unidentified terrorist being shot.  The identity of the slain terrorist and the identity of the militant group are not yet known.


  The exchange of fire between the militants and the security forces has continued.  A few more terrorists are thought to be hiding in the area.  According to reports, heavy gunfire has started between the two sides.

 

  The IGP confirmed the exchange of fire between Kashmir terrorists and security forces, saying, "Yes, an encounter started in the Sambura area of ​​Aontipora and the police, including the police force, are also working."



  The Jammu and Kashmir Police, 50 National Rifles (RR) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a joint search operation.


   According to police officials, "Security forces have cordoned off the area and the terrorists hiding there have started firing at them. The security forces have returned fire."


  Earlier on September 26, Jammu and Kashmir Police along with 32 National Rifles and 92 Battalion CRPF conducted a cordon and search operation in a garden in Mondigam Kralgund.  They arrested a terrorist associate known as Akil Pare.  Police recovered weapons and ammunition from there and he admitted that he was an associate of the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba.
