 The statue will be unveiled at 6:30 p.m., according to a statement submitted to the university on Sunday.  A program of Swami Vivekananda will be held before unwrapping the statue

 Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil a statue of Swami Vivekananda at the premises of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in Delhi on Thursday.  JNU Vice-Chancellor M Jagdesh Kumar said the life-size statue ceremony would be unveiled through video conference.

 

  The event will be held at 6:30 p.m., the university said in a statement on Sunday.  Before the unveiling of the statue, a program of Swami Vivekananda will be held on the campus premises.


  “Swami Vivekananda is one of the beloved intellectuals and a young leader of spiritual leaders, who is fortunate to be born.  He attracted the youth with his message of freedom, development, harmony, unity and peace in India.  He made the citizens concerned, proud and inspired by Indian civilization, culture and its hardworking spirit, ”the JNU Vice-Chancellor said in a statement.

  On Friday, the Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate two future Ayurveda institutes in Gujarat and Rajasthan


  He will inaugurate the Institute of Ayurveda Teaching and Research in Jamnagar, Gujarat and the National Ayurveda (NIA) in Jaipur, Rajasthan, via video conference on Wednesday, sources in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said on Wednesday.

  The potential role of Ayurveda in preventing the Covid-19 epidemic will be the main focus of this year's 'Ayurveda Day' observation, the PMO said in a statement.


  Ayurveda Day has been celebrated every year since 2016 as Dhanvantari Jayanti.  This year it is worn on 13 November.
