Prashar Bharati Divas Convention,is the main event of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and offers an important platform for contact and contact with Indians abroad. 

           

Given the atmosphere of our community living in the diaspora, the 16th Bharatiya Divas Pravasi Convention was held on January 9, 2021 despite the Pavid pandemic underway. Meetings will be held in a virtualized format, much like the PBD conference held the night before the meeting. The theme of the 16th PBD 2021 Convention is "Contribution to Aatmanirbhar Bharat".


The PBD Convention will have three segments. The PBD Convention will be opened by Sri Narendra Modi, Honorary Prime Minister of India and will include a keynote address by key guest HE Mr. Chandrikapersad Santokhi, Honorary President of the Republic of Suriname. The winner of Bharat ko Janiye online youth quiz will also be announced.


The opening session was followed by two plenary sessions. The first plenary on the role of the diaspora in #Aatmanirbhar Bharat will contain speeches from the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Trade and Industry, while the second plenary discusses work-related challenges - the health, economic, social and international relations scenarios - discussed. by the Minister of Health and the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Both plenary sessions will include panel discussions that will invite leading diaspora experts.


The last part is the Congratulations Session, where Venerable Rashtrapatiji will give his Congratulations Speech on the occasion of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas. The names of the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman winners for 2020-21 will also be announced. The Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award is presented to selected members of the Indian diaspora to recognize their achievements and to recognize their contributions in various fields both in India and abroad.


Youth PBD will be celebrated on January 8, 2021 in a practice themed "Uniting Youth Achievements from India and the Indian Diaspora" and confirmed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The special guest at the event was HE Priyanka Radhakrishnan, Minister of Community and New Zealand Volunteer Sector.
