On Friday, Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot said the Delhi government has been working on an 'ambitious project' to bring all transport services online in the capital since April this year. Once launched, the project will be aimed at equipping the city's 13 Regional Transport Offices (RTOs). People will get important documents from the comfort of their home including renewal of driving license (DL) or transfer of ownership of the vehicle.

  The transition to Faceless Services will be done in two phases, Gahlot said. Once effective, applicants seeking a student's license or permanent DL or vehicle fitness certificate will have to physically go to the RTOs for various tests.

  'Led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, we have the biggest reform package in the transport sector that we have adopted this year. In the first phase, 12 services will be 100% online. The software is currently being tested and we have plans to launch it next week. The second phase will include 58 services. Transferring all transport services online from April 1, 'he said.

 The Delhi government provides a total of 70 transport services. For which currently only online appointment booking facility is available. After making an appointment online, an applicant must go to the RTO to complete the documentation process.

  The services that will be available in full online in the first phase include DL renewal, duplicate DL, change of address in DL, transfer of resale vehicle registration certificate (RC) etc. The second phase includes important services such as permit transfer, NOC of other states and annual approval.
