The Colorado Department of Transportation warned that roads could remain closed and appealed to people not to travel unnecessarily.


                        

  More than 2,000 Denver International Airport flights have been canceled on weekends due to a major snowstorm in the region.

                    

  The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning, warning that the weather will be 18 to 24 inches (46-61 cm) heavier in Denver and Boulder from Saturday afternoon to Sunday night, and face snow storms.  Some areas in the foothills are expected to have snowfalls of up to 30 inches (76 cm).

      

  The Colorado Department of Transportation has warned that roads are likely to be closed and people will not be able to travel unnecessarily.

                   

  Highways are most likely to be damaged on highways from Colorado Springs to Wyoming with strong Denver weather and Monument Hill 25;  I-70 to Limon;  And fits from I-76.  Morgan, the department said.

                      

AtDenver International's airport on Saturday morning, passengers tried to travel despite the storm, but about 750 flights were canceled the next day, airport spokeswoman Emily Williams said.  About 1,300 planes were also canceled for almost all Sunday snowstorms.
