West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday reported the expansion of incomplete lockdown in state till August 31. "We are broadening the fractional 

lockdown in the state, which was in power till July 31, till August 31," she said. Making an exclusion, Banerjee said that there will be no lockdown in the state on August first on the event of Bakr Eid. 


Banerjee further Announced that total lockdown will be seen in the state on second, fifth, eighth, ninth, sixteenth, seventeenth, 23rd, 24th and 31st August. 


Tending to a press release, the CM Banerjee said schools and universities will stay shut till August 31 and a choice on their reviving will be taken in September. 


"The  lockdown will be executed generally on Saturdays and Sundays. Be that as it may, since celebrations like Eid as likewise Independence Day are going on Saturdays, lockdown will be authorized on some other day," she said. 


All the legislature and private workplaces, business foundations, open and private vehicle will stay shut during the lockdown. Just the fundamental administrations will be practical. Petroleum  are permitted to open. The working of courts, work in horticultural fields and tea gardens, intra-state and between state merchandise developments and home delivery of prepared food will be allowed. 


Prior, the West Bengal government has chosen to drop all the flights and prepares on the following every other week lockdown. As indicated by a report by PTI, an authority from the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) Airport affirmed the flight suspension on next Wednesday. 


The state government prior prohibited all the traveler trips to Kolkata from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Nagpur and Ahmedabad till July 31. 


The Eastern Railway likewise dropped extraordinary trains that were planned to start from or show up at certain stations in West Bengal on July 29. 


The state had announced more than 60,000 COVID-19 cases till Monday.
