A Chinese soldier has been captured by Indian troops in the Chumar-Demchok area of Ladakh.

Leh (Ladakh): A Chinese soldier of the Indian Army was arrested in the Chumar-Demchok area of Ladakh on Monday morning. The Indian Army said in a statement that the People's Liberation Army (PLA) troops, identified as Corporal Wang Ya Long, would be returned to Chinese authorities in accordance with established protocol.
The PLA soldier had the idea that they had strayed along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and was given food and warm clothing as well as medical treatment when he was detained by the Indian Army.
“A PLA soldier known as Corporal Wang Ya Long was arrested in the Demchok sector of East Ladakh on October 19, 2020 when he lost his way across the LAC. The PLA soldier has been treated with oxygen, food and warm clothing to protect him from the uncertainties of extreme altitude and harsh climatic conditions.
"The PLA has also received a request from the Chinese military to inquire into the whereabouts of the missing soldier. According to established protocol, the Chinese soldier will return to the Chushul-Moldo meeting at the end of the formalities.
Agencies are keeping an eye on espionage, as such incidents are not uncommon amid ongoing border disputes in Ladakh. Both sides have amassed armies and weapons to repel each other.
Corporal Wang was also reported to be carrying civilian and military documents with him
