An Air India Express plane, with in excess of 180 travelers ready, slid off the runway on Friday at the Karupur air terminal in Kozhikode in Kerala.

Dubai-Kozhokode flight X1344, a Boeing 737, had 184 travelers ready and arrived at 7:41 pm at the air terminal. As per aircrafts sources, it seemed to have overshot the runway.

In any event 24 ambulances have been raced to the air terminal.
Preliminary inputs also indicate that the aircraft broke into two pieces after it overshot the runway at Kalipur airport. The aircraft has been identified as IX 344, Air India Express flight from Dubai to Kozhikode.
