 Khag Budgam's Block Development Councilor (BDC) of BJP was shot dead near his home in Dalwash village in Budgam district of central Kashmir on Wednesday evening.

   A senior police official told news agency GNS that BDC chairman Bhupinder Singh had placed two PSOs in the police station for his protection.  The station house officer went to visit the ancestral home without informing Khag.

  Sources said that Singh Alochibagh lived in Srinagar and went to Khag today.  Locals said he contested the election individually but was backed by the PDP.  Police have sent the body for autopsy. Penalty has started.
