New Delhi (Roytus)  Cryptic tweets were posted on Thursday morning on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's personal Twitter account, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi Twitter account has been hacked.



  Confirming the hacking of Prime Minister Modi's personal website, Twitter said it was aware of the activity and had taken steps to secure the account.  A Twitter spokesman told Reuters: "We are actively investigating the situation. We are not aware that other accounts are being targeted at this time."


  In a series of tweets, messages posted on the Twitter account of Prime Minister Modi's personal website, which came with the Narendramodi_in handle, read:  Please donate to 0xae073DB1e5752faFF169B1ede7E8E94bF7f80Be6

  "This account was hacked by John Wick (hckindia@tutanota.com), we did not hack Paytm Mall," wrote another bogus tweet.


  Tweets have been sent down asking for cryptocurrency.

   

  Prime Minister Narendra Modi's personal Twitter account has more than two and a half million followers.


 Recently, the Twitter accounts of verified users, such as Warpie Buffett, Jeff Bezos, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Bill Gates, and Elon Musk, were compromised for posting cryptocurrency-related messages to their accounts.


  The fake tweets offered to send bitcoin 2,000 for 1000 1,000 to Bitcoin addresses.


  After major security breaches, India's cyber security nodal agency CERT-IN issued a notice on Twitter in July for micro-blogging platforms seeking full details of global hacks targeting high-profile Twitter users.
