Argentina: Police have launched an investigation into the home of Diego Maradona's personal physician amid reports that the legend's death was thought to be a homicide.
On Monday morning (ADT) personal physician Leopoldo Locke began searching the property - four days after the death of 60-year-old Maradona in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The order, passed by prosecutors and approved by a judge, said the football legend had been neglected in medical treatment, according to a report by the Argentine news agency Telam.
According to television footage and judicial sources, Leopoldo Luke's surgery and home were searched in search of possible evidence pointing to negligence, the agency said.
Doctors and lawyers involved in Maradona's long-term treatment have criticized the neglect of Argentine legend's medical care before his death.
Maradona, 60, suffered a heart attack at his home in a private residential estate on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, where he was at doctor's guidelines after undergoing brain surgery two weeks ago.
The dramatic twist in the investigation into Maradona's death was reported overnight in the days before the heart failure.
Luke is at his home during a search on the outskirts of Buenos Aires.
Local TV stations are searching for Luke's clinic.
Maradona's daughters, Dalma and Giannina, issued a statement on Sunday demanding an investigation into whether the drugs their father was taking were appropriate. Searches were ordered later.
There is no suggestion at this stage that Luke will be charged for any crime at this stage of the investigation.

Maradona's lawyer Matthias Morla has called for a top-level investigation into the emergency response to the death of the retired footballer last week.
Morla said the first ambulance took more than half an hour to reach the rented house north of Buenos Aires, where former Naples and Barcelona star Hart failed. He called the delay "criminal nonsense."
Mr Morler further complained that no medical check was found 12 hours before Maradona's death, adding that he felt there was more pressure on the former footballer's personal physician.
“Today is a day of deep pain, sorrow and reflection,” Morla wrote.
“I feel in my last moments the passing of a friend whom I have honored with my loyalty and companionship. I have personally said my farewell to him and the awakening should be an intimate ceremony.
"It's indescribable that 12 hours did not attract the attention or control of my friend's legal health workers."
“It took more than half an hour for the ambulance to arrive, it was a criminal idea.
“This fact should not be ignored and I am going to ask whether the consequences are worth investigating in the end. As Diego put it, ‘You are my soldier, work without mercy’. ”
Maradona's longtime doctor, Alfredo Cao, questioned the decision to remove the Argentine icon from hospital on November 11 after he underwent brain surgery.

Someone had been Maradona's doctor for more than 30 years and in 2000 he decided to take her to Cuba for cocaine addiction.
He told Argentine news show Telefit Noticias: “Diego has not been looked after like him.
“He should have been hospitalized, in a house that was not properly prepared.
"I am in complete shock. I have had many ups and downs with Diego over the last 33 years and his death is unusual. "
“I have a lot of doubts. I don't know why he was taken to that house.
"It didn't make sense to me when he left the hospital. When we took him to Cuba, he needed to have a place with a good infrastructure like that."
Ca met the 1986 World Cup winner while he was at the Clinica Olivos on the outskirts of Buenos Aires after his recent brain hemorrhage operation.
