An IED blast in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday evening killed an assistant commandant of the CRPF's Cobra (Commando Battalion for Resolution Action) unit and injured 10 CRPF personnel.
An Assistant Commandant was killed and an CRPF Cobra (Commando Battalion for Resolution Action) unit was killed in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday evening, police said.
The incident took place around 10 pm on Saturday. A team of security forces was returning from a search operation against the Naxals in the forest near Tadmetla village at that time. Ten jawans were injured in two IED blasts, Inspector General of Police (Bastar Range) Sundarraj P said.
According to the police, 10 jawans have been admitted to Raipur for treatment. Assistant Commandant Nitin died on the way, an official said.
Officials said all the injured workers belonged to the 206th Battalion of Cobra.
