Terrorist attack on the outskirts of Srinagar marks the 12th anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

Srinagar: Two jawans were martyred in a terrorist attack on the outskirts of Srinagar on Thursday. Terrorists reportedly attacked the Indian Army Road Opening Party in the HMT area, killing two Indian soldiers.

The injured security personnel have been admitted to the Army Hospital, where they are in critical condition. Indian security forces have already cordoned off the area to catch the attackers
The attack took place on the 12th anniversary of the Mumbai terror attacks and before the first round of District Development Council (DDC) elections in the Union Territory.
The DDC elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be held in eight phases from November 26 to December 19. The vote count will take place on 22nd December.
India, meanwhile, recalls the horrific attacks in Mumbai that began on November 26, 2008 and lasted for four days.
On that unfortunate day, 10 Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists from Pakistan reached Mumbai by sea and fired indiscriminately, claiming that 166 people were killed in a 60-hour blockade of the city.
Notably, on November 19, security forces shot dead four terrorists involved in the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JM) battle in Nagrota, Jammu and Kashmir. Which is a JM Pakistan based terrorist organization.
Jammu Zone Inspector General of Police Mukesh Singh then said they were probably plotting a "big" attack and targeting the DDC elections in the Union Territory.
