An earthquake measuring 4.6 hit Mokochchung in Nagaland. Trembling, felt like entering



An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale struck Mokokchung on Thursday (23 December) in Nagaland, according to the National Seismological Center, which also reported a small 3.0 quake in Assam that morning.


The National Center for Seismology states that "Earthquake magnitude: 4.6 IS on 24-12-2020, 13:39:52, Latitude: 25.58 and Longitude: 96.53, Depth: 100 km, Location: 217 km ESE from Mokokchung, Nagaland, India . "No damage to life or property has been reported to date.



 

An earthquake measuring 3.0 on the Richter scale also hit Nagaon in Assam this morning.


According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the earthquake was felt at 6:56 a.m. at a depth of 5 kilometers. NCS posted on Twitter, "Earthquake magnitude: 3.0, occurred 12-24-2020, 06:56:06 IST, Latitude: 26.10 & Longitude: 93.01, Depth: 5 km, Location: 65 km southeast of Tezpur, Assam, India. "No damage or losses have been reported yet.


Earlier this week, Lech in Ladakh was hit by an earthquake measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale. NCS reported that the earthquake was felt at around 8:33 a.m., 79 kilometers southwest of Alci, Lech.



In a tweet, NCS said, "Earthquake magnitude: 3.7, occurred 12-21-2020, 8:33:46, Latitude: 33.66 and Longitude: 76.64, depth: 5 km, location: 79 km west power from Alci (Lech), Ladakh, India. ""



In Japan in particular, there was an earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale in the Aomori region in northeastern Japan on Monday.



According to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), the earthquake occurred at around 02.23 local time with an epicenter of 40.7 degrees north latitude and 142.7 degrees east longitude and a depth of 10 km.


The quake reportedly reported 5 lows in parts of Iwate Prefecture and 4 lows in Aomori Prefecture on the Japanese seismic intensity scale, peaking at 7. No tsunami alarms have yet been issued.
