Prime Minister Modi launched the NCMC in March 2019 for the convenience of local residents, so that people across the country can afford a variety of transportation costs, including the use of subway and bus services.
The interactive transportation card, dubbed "One Nation One Card", allows holders to pay for bus travel, taxi fees, parking fees, retail purchases and even cash withdrawals.
The NCMC, which will be fully operational on the airport route, will also be an important milestone as anyone who has received debit cards from 23 banks in the last 18 months (following the NCMC as directed by all Financial Services Departments) will be issued by all Departments (Government of India).
