U.S. President Joe Biden, in his first diplomatic speech address to former President Donald Trump on Thursday, called for the beginning of a new chapter in scattered foreign policy after declaring "America back" on the world stage.

During a visit to the United States on February 4, 2021, in Washington, D.C., U.S. President Joe Biden addressed a foreign policy alongside State Vice President Kamala Harris.  Photos

In his speech, President Biden was aggressive from the outset towards China and Russia, calling for an end to the coup by Myanmar's military leaders and announcing a halt to US support for the Saudi-led military operation in Yemen.

"This new moment of authoritarian progress, including China's growing ambition to challenge the United States and Russia's determination to undermine and disrupt our democracy, must be a sure solution for American leadership."  We must address the new moment ... to accelerate the global challenge from epidemics to climate crisis and nuclear proliferation, "Biden said.

He warned European and Asian leaders that tariffs threatened to break the global alliance and withdraw US troops.  He tried to push back against the authoritarian forces in several countries.

Encouraged by Trump, the crowd attacked the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, protesting Biden's election victory, foreign powers and rivals doubting the health of American democracy.

The topic that came up in Biden's speech on Thursday was that Biden tried to put those issues aside and give Americans confidence about the value of a strong international approach.

“Investing in our diplomacy is not something we do because it’s the right thing to do for the world,” he said.  "We strive to live in peace, security and prosperity.  We do it because it is in our own naked interest. "

As Biden's choice of state department for his first major diplomatic speech, the value he placed on a diplomat at the beginning of his term was an important symbol, which Trump saw mostly as opposition.

“The American Alliance is our greatest asset.  And leadership with diplomacy means standing shoulder to shoulder with our allies and key partners again, ”Biden said.

In his early days, Biden sought to paint a picture of the real damage to America's position around the world by reversing Trump's policies.  He is trying to repair it.  He said he was working to restore the Iran deal and would renew US membership in the Paris Agreement and the World Health Organization.

One of the highlights of his speech that day was that he challenged Russian President Vladimir Putin.  He made it clear that Russia would not be left out of international policy after Trump.

"I made it very clear to President Putin, quite differently from my predecessor, that the days of the United States interfering in our elections in the face of Russian aggression by the United States, cyberattacks, provoking its citizens, are over."  He said.

At the same time, Trump initially wanted to maintain a warm relationship with the Chinese president.  Disagreements over trade, however, led to the catastrophe, with Hong Kong and U.S. military forces stationed in Beijing's South China Sea and taking destructive action.

China, which is expanding its military and seeking to increase its influence around the world, is likely to face Biden's biggest international challenge as it begins its presidency in today's speech.  He called Beijing "our most serious competitor."

"We will face economic humiliation from China, and fight against its aggressive, coercive measures to stop China's aggression on human rights, intellectual property and global governance.  "But we are ready to work with Beijing when America is interested in doing this," he said.

He also criticized President Trump's promise to deploy troops to neighboring countries, including Poland.

“We are a country that does great things.  American diplomacy makes it happen and our administration is ready to take this step and lead once again, ”Biden said.
