New Delhi: In India, 13 February is celebrated as National Women's Day every year. It is on this day that Sarojini Naidu, one of the most famous characters in India's struggle for liberation from British rule, was born. His work as a poet won the title "Nightingale of India".

Sarojini Naidu was born on February 13, 1879. He was made a resident of the Indian National Congress in 1925 and became governor of the United Province (now known as Uttar Pradesh) in 1947. He was imprisoned for nearly 21 months during the departure of the Mahatma Gandhi movement in India.


India's first female governor, Ms Naidu, comes from a Bengali family in Hyderabad. He completed his education in Chennai and then went to London and Cambridge for higher education.


Sarojini Naidu is known worldwide for his literary contributions. Some of his poems are also included in the curriculum. His literary works include The Golden Threshold (1905), The Bird of Time: Songs of Life, Death and Spring, The Broken Wing: Songs of Love, Death and Spring, The Gift of India, Mohamed Gina: Ambassadors of unity, The Sceptred Suling : Indian Songs, Kitabistan, Indian Weavers.
