He sat in a dharna demanding the release of his supporters, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi's younger brother Prahlad Modi sat in a dharna at the Lucknow airport on Wednesday evening.
Prahlad Modi, the vice-president of the All India Fair Price Shop Dealers Federation (AIFPSDF), sat in a dharna at the Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, questioning the effectiveness of the Lucknow police and even threatening to go on an indefinite hunger strike for his supporters.
He said he had plans to visit Prayagraj, Sultanpur and other districts from Lucknow.
"Is there a law in Uttar Pradesh that prevents people from welcoming someone who has come to their city? I want a copy of that order. Some policemen told me that there were orders from Prime Minister's Office too. I want to see that order as well," he told reporters.
He further said, "Unless I am shown copies of the orders, I will not move from here. I have also decided to proceed on a hunger strike."
The higher authorities have to go and talk to Prahlad Modi
