Mia Khalifa's tweet came after Rihanna and Greta Thunberg supported a farmer protest on February 2. Both Rihanna and Greta shared news snippets of the protests in their tweets.

Farmers from Punjab, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh have been camping on the Delhi border for more than two months, calling for three new agricultural laws in the center to be lifted. On Republic Day, a group of demonstrators deviated from the route of the farmer's tractor parade and attacked Delhi police officers at ITO before they overran the Red Fort.
