Washington, United States: US President Joe Biden on Thursday condemned what he called "vicious hate crimes" and racist behaviour committed against Asian Americans since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, calling such acts "un-American" and they want it to prevent it.

                

"Too often, we've turned against one another," Biden said in his first primetime address, He went on to describe the progress of the resistance against Covid-19


The Democratic president decried "vicious hate crimes and racist behaviour against Asian Americans who have been attacked, harassed, blamed and scapegoated" over the pandemic, which originated in China.


             

"At the moment, many of them, our fellow Americans - are trying to save lives by standing at the forefront of this epidemic, and yet, they are being forced to walk the streets of America and live their lives in a fundamental way, "Biden said.


"It's wrong. It's un-American. And it must stop."

               

Leaders say widespread anti-Asian inequality has escalated through discussions with former President Donald Trump and others about the "Chinese virus".


  Racist motivation is hard to establish in many cases, but the number of hate crimes against Asian racism has more than doubled in the past year across 16 major U.S. cities, including New York and Los Angeles - even in California, where hate crimes have declined overall.  State University Studies.
