"However, despite efforts by the Border Patrol Agents and Eagle Pass Emergency Medical Services, the 9-year-old daughter did not regain consciousness and was later pronounced deceased," CBP spokesman Dennis Smith told NBC News.

In the statement, the CBP hinted about the growing humanitarian crisis with an increased number of migrants attempting to illegally enter the U.S. "Since the beginning of Fiscal Year 2021, Oct. 1, Del Rio Sector Border Patrol agents have rescued over 500 migrants attempting to illegally enter the country," the statement informed. Additionally, it also stated, "To report suspicious activity call the Del Rio Sector's toll free number at 1-866-511-8727."

One furious user blamed Biden and Harris for 'aiding her death'. "Hey Harris & Biden ....that drowned 9 year old Hispanic girl who died in the Rio Grande IS ALL ON YOU ! You aided in her death & you should be held accountable! Are you yucking it up now Harris ?" they tweeted.
