The government is going to give a one-week National lockdown due to the rising rate of corona virus infection in Bangladesh.

State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain told the BBC the week-long "lockdown" could begin on Monday or Tuesday.

Mr. did not mention the date of the final day.  Hossain.  He says people will be given a chance to prepare.

However, citing Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader, local media said the 'lockdown' would begin on Monday.

Details of how this National lockdown will be implemented are not yet known.

However, Farhad Hossain said that apart from the emergency services, garment and other industries will be free from lockdown.

The government says the measure is to control the second wave of corona viruses.

According to News the number of corona patients has been increasing in Bangladesh for the last one week, so the number of diagnoses is exceeding the previous highest number every day.

The Health Department's news bulletin on Friday reported that Covid-19 was identified in 6,830 people in 29,339 sample tests in 24 hours.

The detection rate considering the test is 23.28 percent.

Another 50 people have died in the last 24 hours.

Earlier, the government issued 18-point directives to prevent corona virus infection.

Meanwhile, all tourist centers in the country have been directed to remain closed till April 14.

Due to corona virus, lockdown has been going on in Bangladesh for more than three months last year.  However, the government called the lockdown, which began on March 26, 2020, a "general holiday."

Until the  National 'lockdown' was carried out across the country, the affected houses, districts and upazilas etc. were locked down.

As of April 18, 2020, 29 districts of the country were completely and 19 districts were partially locked down.

Although there were no 'lockdowns' across the country like in other countries, there were restrictions on free movement across the country without much urgency.

The government had issued a notification announcing to take legal action if people go out from 6 pm to 6 am across the country.

At the same time, the administration imposed strictures to stop the movement from one area to another.
