The glacier mass burst occurred close to the Indio-China line in Chamoli locale of Uttarakhand. No untoward episode has been accounted for up until now.

Addressing news office ANI, Colonel Manish Kapil, Commander, Border Road Task Force (BRTF) said, "An icy mass has blasted close to Uttarakhand's Joshimath on India-China line." 


Uttarakhand govt issues alert 


In the interim, the Uttarakhand government has given an alarm following information on the Glacier  burst. 


Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat tweeted, "I have gotten news about a glacial mass burst in the Sumna town in Niti Valley. I have given an alarm, and I am in normal touch with the BRTO and region organization." 


In another tweet, Rawat said the locale organization has been approached to get subtleties of the occurrence. "We have given directions to stop work at NTPC and other hydroelectric plants around evening time to deflect any untoward episode." 


Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar in a tweet said data regarding the icy mass burst is being gathered.

Water level ascents in Rishi Ganga stream 


Sources in the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) said water level in the Rishi Ganga stream has ascended by two feet. They said there is no data of any untoward episode up until now.
