 Chief Justice of the Madras High Court.  At the same time, the Madras High Court warned the commission that it had to inform the court by April 30 about the steps they were taking to comply with the Corona Rules on the day of counting of votes.  Otherwise, the Madras High Court warned the commission that it would close the counting of votes on May 2 if necessary.

 On the same day, the Madras High Court made it clear that the Election Commission had completely failed to compel political parties to abide by the covid rules.  As a constitutional body, the court held them responsible for the deterioration of the Corona situation.

 Strongly reprimanding the commission, a division bench of Madras High Court Chief Justice Sanjeev Banerjee and Senthilkumar Rammurthy said, "You alone are responsible for the situation that has arisen in the country today. 

 You have not exercised any power in your own hands  The court has repeatedly warned you to abide by the Corona rules, but you have not taken any action against any political party for breaking the rules and holding rallies and processions.

 "If you do not submit the blueprint to the court before May 2, we assure you that we will stop the counting of votes," the division bench told the commission in a stern tone.  So that you don't have to pay the price of your worthlessness to this state anymore  '

 Tamil Nadu is among the five states where assembly elections are being held, including West Bengal.  However, in Tamil Nadu, the counting of votes ended on April 7  The results will be released on May 2

 The court also observed that under no circumstances would the rate of corona infection in Tamil Nadu be allowed to increase due to the 2nd day counting of votes.

  The judges also said that the results would be released in stages if necessary  The court said, "At the moment, the issue of public health is the most important."  It's frustrating to have to remind a constitutional body. "

 The court made the observation during the hearing of a petition filed by Tamil Nadu Transport Minister MR Vijayavaskar. 

 Vijayavaskar demanded that the court ensure that the commission takes steps to maintain transparency in the counting of votes in the Karu assembly constituency in Tamil Nadu.  Because, a total of 6 candidates are contesting in that center
