The European Union appears to be failing its Brexit commitment to minimize trade in trade barriers between the UK and the province of Northern Ireland, the British, EU Ties Minister said on Monday. David Frost, the minister responsible for relations with the bloc, told a parliamentary committee
"We want a little more flexibility in the implementation of this agreement. The withdrawal agreement contains a provision that we are forcing both of these to remove the barriers to trade between Great Britain and Northern Ireland as low as possible, and I'm not sure that this commitment will be fully met.
"We need a reasonable discussion of the real risk and real problems posed by over-processing ... Unfortunately, we haven't had this discussion yet . "
