 New Delhi. Security at Tihar Prison in New Delhi after his arrest in Indonesia in 2015. On April 26, a Tihar Prison official told the trial court that the gangster could not be video conferenced in front of the judge for his hearing he tested positive for Covid-19. Rajan is charged with extortion and murder in at least 70 criminal cases in Maharashtra.

Rajan, 61, was lodged in solitary confinement in one of the biggest cells at Delhi's high-security Tihar Jail. He was not even allowed to interact with other prisoners due to security concerns.

However, officials suspect that he may have contracted the virus from some asymptomatic jail officer.
