The seismologist told CNN. "There have been 152 earthquakes that measure all magnitudes," said seismologist Paul Caruso over the phone from Golden, Colorado. Caruso said the area is not densely populated and is known to have "swarms" in the past.
A CNN team in Orange County said they didn't feel any of the earthquakes. The 2.5-5.3 earthquakes occurred in Calipatria, south of the Salton Sea along the San Andreas Fault, as shown on the USGS map.

According to the USGS, at least four earthquakes ranging in magnitude from 3.9 to 5.9 have occurred in the area in the past few hours.
