              Khan is a gentle dreamer with arresting eyes,  a towering presence, and an illustrious filmography. Most of us know the man only through the characters that he has played: Roohdaar in Haider, Maqbool in the eponymous film, Rana in Piku, Saajan in The Lunchbox, and of course, Ashoke in The Namesake. Today, these characters have made him a recognized name around the world.

Irrfan Khan is an intimate and meticulously researched account of this refreshingly unique and unconventional Indian icon. Drawn from personal interviews and told through many voices, Aseem Chhabra traces Irrfan’s personal and artistic life in all its many shades. Rich in detail and peppered with anecdotes, it is a fascinating look at the life and work of the actor that begins in a small household in Rajasthan and culminates in his face gazing down from billboards in Hollywood. It explores some of his greatest performances that have shown India and the world what cinema can do.

Sahabzade Irfan Ali Khan (7 January 1967 – 29 April 2020), known professionally as Irrfan Khan or simply Irrfan, was an Indian actor who worked in Hindi cinema as well as British and American films. Cited in the media as one of the finest actors in Indian cinema, Khan's career spanned over 30 years and earned him numerous accolades, including a National Film Award, an Asian Film Award, and four Filmfare Awards. Filmfare Awards In 2011, he was awarded the Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian honour.

Khan was born and brought up in Jaipur, India. He was born into a Muslim Nawab family. He was studying for his M.A. degree when he earned a scholarship to study at the National School of Drama (NSD) in New Delhi in 1984.
The Irfan Khan’s family name comes from Mongol and Turkish languages and mean great leader or King. Posterities of Ghengis Khan in central Asia espoused Islam and emerged as Moghuls, who subjugated India for more than a few centuries until British rule.He married his fellow NSD graduate Sutapa Sikdar on 23 February 1999, and they had two sons named Babil and Ayan.

Irfan Khan was a proficient cricket player. In his earlier 20’s, he was nominated for CK Nayudu Tournament. He did not upturn for the tournament on account of deficiency of funds and consequently he concentrated on acting. In the year 1984, he received a scholarship to National School of Acting New Delhi.
Starting off his journey:After completion of his studies, he moved to 
Mumbai and started working as an actor in various television series. Some of the serials he worked in include Chanakya, Bharat EkKhoj, Laal Ghaas Par NeeleGhodand Sparsh.
He played several kinds of roles in which he acted like a psycho serial killer, famous revolutionary Urdu poet, Marxist political activist, and much more. Some of his best career’s work also went unnoticed.
He started his Bollywood career with his first lead role in 2005 with film Rog. He received many praises, and he later continued his work playing significant roles in various movies. Some of these are D-Day, QaribQarib Single, Jazbaa, and Gunday. Many of his performances in films like Madaari, Piku, Paan Singh Tomar, The Lunchbox and Talvarwere considered as outstanding and were well appraised.

His depiction of Paan Singh Tomar in the applauded biographical athletic drama Paan Singh Tomar bestowed him with National Filmfare Award for the Best Actor as well as a Filmfare Critics Award for the Best Actor. His enactment in BAFTA Award
some of his recognize British and American films such as Slum Dog Millionaire and Life of Pi.

In March,2018 , Irfan had announced that he has suffered from a rare form of neuroendocrine cancer

Irrfan, who has been battling cancer for a long time now started the clip with "Hello brothers and sister. This is Irrfan. I’m here with you and yet I’m not. This film Angrezi Medium is very special for me. I truly wanted to promote this film with the same love with which we made it. But my body has been gatecrashed by some unwanted guests… Whatever happens, I’ll share with you all."
Furthermore, he continued with "When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. Sounds good,… but when you get a handful of lemons it isn’t that easy to squeeze them. And we always have the choice to stay positive. In situations like these, it’s up to us to make lemonade. And with this positivity, we made this film. I hope it will give you something and make you laugh, cry and probably laugh again."
Irrfan concluded the clip by saying "Enjoy the trailer and be kind to each other and watch the film. And yes, wait for me." 'Angrezi Medium' which is helmed by Homi Adajania also stars Radhika Madan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranvir Shorey and Pankaj Tripathi in pivotal roles. The film is currently scheduled to release on 20th March 2020.
