KABUL (Reuters) - More than a dozen rocket attacks hit Kabul on Tuesday, injuring at least 10 people, including children, and ordering the closure of some foreign embassies, Afghan capital officials and sources said.
The identities of the attackers are not yet known, although a Home Ministry spokesman said two suspects had been arrested.
The attack comes as the U.S. government encourages peace talks between the government and the Taliban and prepares to withdraw the last U.S. troops to end nearly 19 years of war.
Smoke billowed around, alarms sounded and shuffles fell, Reuters eyewitnesses said at least four rockets were fired in the Green Zone area, where many foreign embassies and NATO headquarters are located.

A Reuters eyewitness said: "The alarm went off two to three seconds before the incident and then the first rocket sounded, followed by a huge sigh and a shuffle and a bit of concrete," said a Reuters witness.
The capital's security was threatened when Afghanistan celebrated its National Independence Day, ending British rule in 1919.
Home Ministry spokesman Tariq Aryan said: "Several rockets were fired from two vehicles.
He later added that fourteen rockets had been fired at various parts of the city and that two people had been arrested in connection with the attack.
He said four children were also among the ten injured.
A senior security official in the western part of the country told Reuters that diplomatic missions had been quickly closed after the blasts as embassy staff evacuated them to a safe room.
A top Western security official added, "All diplomatic officials at the Green Zone embassy have been transferred to safe havens until clearance orders are issued."
A discreet source told Reuters a rocket hit a mosque outside the strategic enclave.
