In this case, the plaintiff's lawyers Hari Shankar Jain, Vishnu Jain and Ranjana Agnihotri filed the application. Four members of the committee, including the Sunni Waqf Board, Eidgah Mosque Trust, Shri Krishna Janam Station Trust and Shri Krishna Janbhumi Seva Sansthan, have been included in the case and a notice has been sent to the respondent seeking their response. The next hearing is scheduled for November 18.
A group of petitions have been filed by Hindu groups in the Mathura case, claiming that the mosque, built during the reign of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in 1969-70, was Krishna's original birthplace. According to Hindu groups, Kargar, the jail where Lord Krishna was born, is located below the mosque and this can only be proved if excavations are allowed.
