PM Modi inaugurates Durga Puja Pandal in West Bengal
Kolkata: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated Durga Puja pandals in Kolkata via video conference, the largest five-day event in West Bengal amidst the epidemic.
The BJP has claimed that it has made enough arrangements for the people to watch Prime Minister Modi's virtual inauguration live. TV screens have been set up in 78,000 polling booth areas across the state.
The Prime Minister inaugurated the BJP's puja pandal at Salt Lake in Kolkata, a cultural center run by the Union Ministry of Culture.
The Prime Minister tweeted about joining his festival last evening. He spoke at noon.

Dancer Donna Ganguly, the wife of BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly, performed a number of talented folk dances. MP Babul Supriya performed Rabindra Sangeet.
Today is Maha Sasthi, the first day of five days of worship of Goddess Durga.
Durga Puja is inherent in Bengali society and a huge means of reaching out to the masses. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated 200 pujas in Kolkata and more than a dozen pujas.
The BJP was part of the inauguration. Most political analysts already think that the Prime Minister's participation in the biggest festival in Bengal before the Assembly elections is important enough.
