 NEW DELHI: A storm of controversy has erupted after Twitter showed India's Jammu and Kashmir as part of the People's Republic of China on India's timelines.


  The issue was raised by Kanchan Gupta, a prominent fellow, after the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) tweeted about showing J&K as part of China.


  "So Twitter has decided to reorganize geographically and declare Jammu and Kashmir as part of the #PublicPublic #China. What if it is not a violation of #Indian law? Are Indian citizens punished less than that? But are big US tech companies above the law?"  , Mr. Gupta wrote this statement by tagging the Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad.


  Several netizens called on Prasad and the government on Twitter to take action against India.


  "No, that's not a strange thing on Twitter," Gupta said in another tweet.


  "@ Twitter @ Twitter India So in your opinion Leh is a part of the People's Republic of China," a netizen posted.


  "Please look at this and take appropriate action. Now is the time for these social media giants to be held accountable for their stupidity," said one netizen, Prasad.


  "Please report this serious matter and take necessary action against TwitterIndia. They cannot properly accept Indian sovereignty. Do not allow them to normalize this confusion," another Twitter
