 The Income Tax Department searched the well-known coal traders of West Bengal.  A search was conducted in Raniganj, Asansol, Purulia and Kolkata on November 5 and billions of rupees in cash and Rs 150 crore were seized.

  According to the confidential information of the detectives of the income tax department, a large amount of cash without accounts and they are being used for the purpose. During this Cash and bullion worth Rs 7.3 crore were seized during the search from Asansol,Purulia ,Ranigang and kolkata. obtained in an investigation conducted by the income tax have been confiscated indicating that coal traders have invested about 150 Cr. in unused equity shares.  Of which 140 crore purchase assets have already been sold.


  According to income tax sources, the sale transaction was shameful, and the coal trader admitted it after receiving evidence.


  The investigations also seized a number of documented documents relating to cash production of coal and sand business, sale of sponge iron, etc.  Documents that have also been seized prove the huge unaccounted expenditure for the convenience of transporting coal and for the activities of various businesses.

  It may be recalled that Union Home Minister Amit Shah was on a preparatory visit and conference of the BJP ahead of the 2021 Assembly elections ending on Friday, November 6.  During a secret meeting with party leaders on a two-day visit to West Bengal, he said the state party unit would have to fight hard against the ruling TMC to bring it to power in Bengal.  He also set a target of winning 200 out of 294 seats in the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, a statement by Amit Shah which TMC leader and MP Saugat Roy said was wrong.
