Beijing should be prepared for a tough stance from Washington.  The remarks by an adviser to the Chinese government have caused a stir.  He added that "the country must dispel the misconception that Sino-US relations will automatically improve under President-elect Joe Biden.

  According to ANI, the South China Morning Post quoted Zheng Yongyan, dean of the Shenzhen-based think tank, Advanced Institute of Global and Contemporary China Studies, as saying that Beijing should seize every opportunity to establish relations with the United States.

  In an interview in Guangzhou, Zheng said, "The good old days are over ... The Cold War market in the United States has been in turmoil for several years and they will not close overnight," Zheng said in an interview in Zhangzhou.

  Last Thursday, Joe Biden, in response to questions about Beijing's economic sanctions and his remarks during the country's presidential debate, said he wanted to make sure China would abide by the rule.  "It's not about punishing China, it's about realizing that they have played by the rules.  It’s a simple proposition, ’Biden noted during a meeting of bipartisan governors in his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware.

  Attending a symposium in August chaired by Chinese President Xi Jinping to discuss long-term strategy, Zheng said he mentioned bilateral consensus on China in the United States.  He added that the people are angry with China and will be able to take advantage of Biden.

 Claiming that American society was "fragmented", the government adviser commented that "Beadon could do nothing about it."

  "He must be a very weak president. If he can't solve domestic issues, he'll work on the diplomatic front, he'll do something against China. If we say Trump is not interested in promoting democracy and independence, Biden was. Trump is not interested in war.  But a democratic president can signal war, "he said.

  Cheng added that China is committed to defending its sovereignty and hopes that the next US administration will meet "halfway through China."

  President Trump's four-year rule has been described as the worst time in Sino-US relations. What Chinese officials at the ruling Communist Party of China, led by President Xi Jinping, have said is the most elusive and unexpected American leader since former US President Richard Nixon.  In 1972, the president established relations with the communist nation.

  Republican Trump has aggressively pressured all aspects of US-China relations, including his relentless trade war, during his administration, challenging China's military position in the context of the disputed South China Sea, continuing to threaten Taiwan and branding it as a 'China virus'.  Later it was also commented.
