Pakistan in the dark. A sudden power outage occurred across the country on Saturday night. Local time then 11.45. It is learned that 114 cities of the country including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Multan, Quetta, Faisalabad, Muzaffargarh, Narowal, Bhakkar, Kabirwala, Khanewala, Bhawalpur and Sukkur have been plunged into darkness.

The cause of the power outage has been identified as power outage in the 500 KVA transmission line. It is learned that the National Transmission Dispatch Company was blacked out across the country due to a technical fault in the power connection system. The situation is expected to return to normal by Sunday morning.
