Wing Commander Abhinav Abhinav's MiG-21 Bison was shot down after successfully blocking a post of Pakistani fighters along the Line of Control in the Rajouri-Mendhar sector on February 27, following the Balakot strike.  The IAF pilot hit the fourth-generation F-16 before hitting his old MiG-21 in a dogfight over the skies of Jammu.
