PM Modi releases commemorative coin in honour of Smt. Vijaya Raje Scindia

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil a 100 ₹ commemorative coin in honor of Vijaya Raje Scindia today through a virtual event. Scindia was the queen mother of Gwalior in Vijaya Raje. The coin was inaugurated in honor of Vijay Raje Scindia's birth centenary.
"Tomorrow, October 12, is the birth anniversary of Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia. 100 commemorative coin will be unveiled at 11 a.m. on this special day. It is a celebration of her birth centenary and a tribute to her. Great personality," Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a tweet.
Family members of Rajmata Scindia from different parts of the country will also participate in the event through the virtual platform.
This commemorative coin has been specially made on behalf of the Ministry of Finance
Vijaya Raje Scindia was the leader of Jana Sangh and one of the founding members of the BJP.
Coming from the royal family, Scindia was one of the main faces of the Gairik party and a proponent of its core Hindutva issues.
He was born on October 12, 1999. His daughter BJP leader Bashundhara Raje and grandson Jyotiraditya Scindia both lead the BJP.
